Staying Cool Through the Gap-Up — I Followed My Playbook

$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ opened with a strong gap up above 470, reaching an intraday high of 477, and is now trading around 457. While the momentum is clearly strong, I’m not looking to add at this level. My original plan was to add only if TSLA confirmed a breakout above 460, and that plan still holds. Earlier, when it pushed into the 455–460 range, I added a small confirmation position. I’ve already taken partial profits near the highs, and I’m holding the rest as a core position to observe further.
$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ is also showing strength today, hitting a high around 190 and currently trading near 188.9. It’s still sitting in the resistance zone, and since there wasn’t a meaningful surge in volume, I didn’t add. I’m holding on to the trend position I initiated yesterday. If it can hold the 186–188 zone with increasing volume, I’ll consider adding. But if it gets rejected and drops back to 183–182, I’ll trim the added portion and hold only the core position.
$Applied Materials (AMAT.US)$ — I added a position yesterday near 200, and it’s already up around 219. My plan was to start trimming if it pushed towards 212, so we’re pretty much there. I’ll reduce gradually based on price action, and I’ll continue holding the rest as long as it stays above 200.
$Oracle (ORCL.US)$ is still weak today, hovering around 287. I already reduced most of my position at higher levels and now just hold a core position. I won’t re-enter unless it breaks out cleanly above the 305–308 zone with strong volume. No reason to add here.
$Western Digital (WDC.US)$ had a surprise move today, surging all the way to 138 before pulling back to 130. That’s much faster than I expected. I was originally waiting for a hold above 112 before considering an entry, so at this level, I’m even less interested. I’ll wait for a clearer pullback and base-building before doing anything.
$Fair Isaac (FICO.US)$ had a massive move today, with an intraday high of 1990 and now trading at 1874. I had added a position in the 1510–1530 support zone, and it’s now sitting on a very nice gain. I’ll hold as long as there’s no major breakdown on volume. If it breaks and holds above 1960–1980 with volume confirmation, I’d consider adding more.
$Seagate Technology (STX.US)$ spiked to 264 earlier in the session and has now pulled back to 257. This kind of fade is typical of a shakeout. I won’t chase here — unless it can reclaim and hold above 228 with some structural strength, I’ll just stay on the sidelines.
$Apple (AAPL.US)$ made another attempt to break above 255 today and briefly touched it, but the volume was weak. I’m sticking with my original plan: I’ll only start rebuilding the position I trimmed last week if it can convincingly hold above 255. Until then, I remain on the sidelines.
