Short term downward trend for AMD

$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD.US)$ Since GTC, AMD has been hit hard by NVDA as competing products… in addition, the daily chart for AMD has shown that its alr in a bearish momentum… short term wise, I doubt it will go upwards unless there is a strong news catalyst to push it… the RSI is still at 30-40% for daily chart
Short term downward trend for AMD

  • Stock Buff : Should I buy AMD?

  • OceansWaveOP Stock Buff: If you planning to hold long term… it’s still not the time yet.. it’s not at it bottom yet..

If you doing day trading, the 1 - 5min are showing it reversing at the moment.. but still it is almost hitting over bought range in 1min - 5min chart…

  • Stock Buff : Thanks for the advice! 👍 I plan to hold it for a short period of time for a few days.

  • macfan28 : I agree to your view that AMD is facing downward pressure due to Nvidia’s rather impressive Blackwell “platform” announcement at GTC.
If AMD does not reveal any competitive product (MI400x) against Blackwell, the gap would be even bigger when Rubin releases in 2025. It would be a serious call then for long term AMD investor to consider reducing their AMD shares and increasing Nvidia shares.

  • 102461859 : my view is amd has always been a speculative bet, disruptors historically have v low chance to take over the lead. By the time amd manage to squeeze some meaningful market share in ai chip biz, the wind probably would have switched direction and gpu is no longer relevant

I ain’t any guru… i follow technicals and trend line of the market
