Shopping in JB to Save on Living Costs in Singapore
I remember watching a CNA documentary or interview (can't recall exactly) that mentioned buying prescription medication in Malaysia can be significantly cheaper than in Singapore.
From my own experience, I've:
1. gone to JB to purchase over-the-counter medications for elderly family members.
2. tried some massage and wellness services there, which are generally more affordable than in Singapore.
3. bought contact lenses in JB is also an option (although the discounts aren't as substantial, so it's not always worth the trip just for that.)
I also know some friends who go there for dental check-ups and even make weekly trips to JB to buy groceries and household items. Over time, this can definitely help save on living costs.
For those living close to the border, frequent trips to JB might be convenient and beneficial. However, for someone like me, it's not always convenient to make the trip. So, I don't go as often.
I'm curious if you guys are using JB trips as a way to cut down on living expenses.
Do you find it effective? How often do you go, and what do you usually buy?
