Sembcorp Partners for Green Ammonia Supply Chain from India to Japan
$Sembcorp Ind(U96.SG$ , in collaboration with Sojitz Corporation and Kyushu Electric Power, has signed an MOU to explore opportunities for green ammonia production in India, aiming for export to Japan.
Presented at the Asia Zero Emission Community Leaders’ Meeting, the MOU outlines plans to construct green ammonia facilities in India, with Sembcorp leading the development. Sojitz and Kyushu Electric will handle ammonia transport and secure off-takers in Japan.
The agreement aligns with Sembcorp's strategic shift to a greener portfolio and supports Japan's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
The MOU is not expected to significantly impact Sembcorp's current financials.
