BelleWeather SSJ Horus: This means that just after the IPO, the executives cashed out of their own company. They took the money from the offering and dumped the shares on investors. Doing this so soon is a very bad sign for investors. It means the people in charge have no faith in the company’s ability to be profitable. To be fair, the CEO did state in advance of shares coming to market that he didn’t have confidence that Reddit would ever be profitable (it’s lost money for two decades already and has no roadmap for monetization, still.) The CEO is also very highly paid as it is. In brief, unless one wants to gamble on a short squeeze, don’t invest, as the founder’s interests aren’t aligned with those of shareholders.
BelleWeather SSJ Horus: Excuse me, I was mistaken. This was also the plan from the start. The IPO was set-up to provide liquidity to the insider shareholders. So all were warned in advance.
