  • Trytosaveabit : IMO! It’s a combination of algorithm resets along with SL hunting to free up shares? You only see these spikes at 8AM est on tickers that have had heavy AM and PM volume and large price increase! WB charts actually pick it up way better than MM! I’ve posted many screenshots showing the huge difference!

  • Trytosaveabit : Here look at it!

  • STD0313OP Trytosaveabit: The difference between MM and WB is simple. WB uses only one broker to track all PA and volume up until 8 am. MM uses multiple sources. Also why WB is often way behind on Volume numbers.

  • STD0313OP Trytosaveabit: You can't buy or sell.....it is a dead candle really

  • Trytosaveabit STD0313OP: I have to disagree with at least you PM volume assessment! WM and MM volume tracks identical on most tickers in PM! That’s why I use Nasdaq to track live volume during PM! At least that’s what I’ve noticed mostly.

  • Trytosaveabit STD0313OP: Got to disagree on this a bit also! If those were dead candles they wouldn’t trigger buy/sell orders? And I have personal experience with both!  That’s why I never have a limit sell as a PM SL because it will get triggered on those big dips! Once in a while like 1 out of 10 it will actually pick up a buy order on the big flash down! Again from experience! But it’s mostly the sells it fills! If I hadn’t experienced it personally more than once. I would totally agree with you! I guess the multiple times I’ve experienced it could be just coincidence? But that’s hard for me to believe after it happening IMO to often for coincidence.

  • STD0313OP Trytosaveabit: not at all. But I have never been able to trigger a buy or sell during that 1 candle.....on either side I have but not during the candle.....that is very interesting.  How many times have you been able to buy/sell on it.....was it within a reasonable range of the price right before the 8 est candle

  • Trytosaveabit STD0313OP: It happened so much on the sell side that I stopped setting a limit sell as a SL since SL don’t work PM and AM! As far as using it for a dip buy if i really want to try and pick up a few more cheap because I know it’s more likely coming! Now that’s rare! The sell gets triggered nearly every time! But the buy maybe 1 out of 10! That’s what lead me to the conclusion that some of it is Market makers using it to free up shares for shorting? Again this is speculation on my part! But it sure seems to fit with my consistent experience with that particular situation!
