Powerwell Secures RM68.5m Data Centre Order, Strengthening Earnings Visibility into FY27
Powerwell Holdings Bhd has secured a notable contract win after its wholly-owned subsidiary, Powerwell International Sdn Bhd, accepted a RM68.47 million purchase order from a multinational technology corporation specialising in data centre infrastructure.
The purchase order encompasses the design, procurement, delivery, testing and commissioning of low-voltage switchgears, underscoring Powerwell’s technical depth and execution capabilities in mission-critical electrical systems. The project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026, providing revenue and earnings contribution spanning FY2026 to FY2027.
Strategically, this win positions Powerwell squarely within the structural growth cycle of data centres, supported by accelerating cloud adoption, AI deployment and regional digitalisation initiatives. Securing a mandate from a multinational technology player also signals rising confidence in Powerwell’s engineering standards, reliability and ability to deliver at scale in high-specification environments.
Management has indicated that the contract carries no exceptional risks beyond normal operational considerations, and that mitigation measures are already in place. Given that low-voltage switchgear solutions form a core part of Powerwell’s expertise, execution risk appears well-contained, while the size of the order should offer operating leverage benefits over the contract period.
From a financial standpoint, the RM68.47 million order represents a meaningful uplift to the Group’s order book, enhancing earnings visibility and supporting balance sheet strength over the next two financial years.
Looking ahead, this contract strengthens Powerwell’s foothold in the data centre value chain and builds a platform for follow-on opportunities from both existing and new multinational clients. As data centre investments continue to scale across the region, Powerwell appears increasingly well-positioned to convert structural demand into sustainable earnings growth, making this a quietly bullish development for the Group.
