April P/L Challenge: Which stocks in your portfolio shined for you?

Outperforming the Market in a Volatile April

April was a dynamic and volatile month for my portfolio. My investment strategies yielded a profit of SGD 14,240 (USD 7,463), which is a 4.31% money-weighted monthly gain (3.98% simple-gain). The Quarterly earnings and interest rate uncertainty drove high implied volatility, presenting opportunities for premium gains from put selling. The market's reaction to Q1 earnings allowed me to capitalize on well-timed entries.

I make it a point to be transparent about my investments, sharing my results across various platforms. This habit continues to serves as a tool for self-reflection for me, and also provides an opportunity to engage, learn, and exchange insights with the community from our shared experiences.
Outperforming the Market in a Volatile April
In April, I realised profits from $Meta Platforms(META.US)$ $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$ $Royal Philips(PHG.US)$ . My day trading strategy, buying both Pre and Post-market and selling at market open, capitalized on short-term movements, yielding substantial profits from these stocks.

I also placed STRANGLE OPTION positions on $Uber Technologies(UBER.US)$ $Blackrock(BLK.US)$ $Lockheed Martin(LMT.US)$ to exploit expected volatility, and a STRADDLE OPTION position on $MicroStrategy(MSTR.US)$ anticipating significant movement due to its correlation with $Bitcoin(BTC.CC)$ .
Outperforming the Market in a Volatile April
Despite strategic entries and initial profits from the $PepsiCo(PEP.US)$ ,I incurred losses in a Sell Call forecasting a price below $175, the stock's performance led to a marginal loss, which I managed by quickly cutting losses with a stop loss order. My daily naked put selling on $SPDR S&P 500 ETF(SPY.US)$ also fell short of expectations this month, but the losses were manageable.
I maintained a strict rule to control my maximum daily drawdown to below 5%. This discipline helped in making unemotional decisions, cutting losses when necessary, and avoiding the pitfalls of bag holding.
Outperforming the Market in a Volatile April
My April performance continued to outperform both the Nasdaq and S&P 500, despite the prevailing bear market trend.
As of now, I'm on track with my 2024 goals. I track by SGD, with a combined strategy. I also allocate my capital to the $CSOP USD Money Market Fund(SGXZ96797238.MF)$ $Fullerton Fund - Fullerton SGD Liquidity Fund(SGXZ40088619.MF)$ for T+0 liquidity.
How should I prepare for May? Should I follow the 'Sell in May and go away' ? I plan to keep a close watch on potential opportunities that may arise with $MicroStrategy(MSTR.US)$ $Tesla(TSLA.US)$ $Apple(AAPL.US)$ $Saia(SAIA.US)$ $Nike(NKE.US)$ $Alphabet-C(GOOG.US)$ $Super Micro Computer(SMCI.US)$
"Be greedy when others are fearful, and fearful when others are greedy."Most importantly, strive to achieve consistent results in your strategy.
All the best to everyone
