According to a source familiar with the matter, talks are ongoing and a decision hasn't been made on branding or naming. The partnership may mark a return to China for Meta after Facebook and Instagram were blocked in the country. This collaboration would also bring together two significant players in the metaverse space. Tencent has been exploring deals to expand its metaverse ambitions, such as a potential acquisition of Chinese gaming handset maker Black Shark last year.
