ASE Technology, the world's largest semiconductor assembly and testing company, is teaming up with AMD to boost the efficiency of its data centers.
According to an AMD blog post, ASE chose AMD's EPYC and Ryzen chips to power its data center systems, which need to process large amounts of data. Jekyll Chen, head of ASE's IT infrastructure, said the processors were selected for their performance.
The partnership has already delivered results—ASE reported a 50% boost in performance and a 6.5% reduction in energy use compared to its previous non-AMD systems.
