Opportunities in Canadian Oil and Gas
From the point of view of globalization and comparative advantages, there exist considerable opportunites in the natural resource sector of Canada. Among others, oil and gas is an important natural resource sector.
As Canada is named as a major oil and gas producing company by our PM (video), the bullish side of the oil and gas sector is further enhanced by the recent completion of trans-moutain pipeline expansion project and the major progress of the LNG Canada project. Moreover, Canada has rich deposits of oil sand. The cold temperature helps lower the cost (especially the environmental cost) of the liquefaction of natural gas. The geographical tension requires the West to seek a reliable oil and gas supplier, which is Canada.
While the world is transitioning into the net zero emission, gasoline is still irreplaceable in both its energy perspective and its raw material perspective in chemical industry. Moreover, environmental technology research and development requires funding, which is necessirily fueled by oil and gas.
The oil and gas industry concerns the production (drilling), distribution (pipeline), and retail. There are substantial opportunites in each of the procedure. For example, among the three, retail is considered in the domestic market of Canada. Apart from some major cities from one or two province, the electric vehicle is still considered infeasible in the extreme cold weather and vast land in the rest of the country.
