The U.S. will be taking steps to prevent American chipmakers from selling semiconductors to China by getting around government restrictions, Karen Freifield of Reuters reports, citing a U.S. official.
The new rules will be added to the restrictions on U.S. shipments of advanced chips and chipmaking equipment to China revealed last October. The updates are expected to be released this week, sources told Reuters.
