NVIDIA Expands Collaboration with Chinese EV Makers Amid Auto AI Race
During the GTC developer conference in San Jose, California, NVIDIA $NVIDIA(NVDA.US$ announced its expanded partnerships with Chinese automakers, including $BYD COMPANY(01211.HK$ , as they intensify efforts in developing self-driving vehicles and AI-driven infotainment systems for global markets.
BYD, now the world's top electric vehicle manufacturer, will integrate Nvidia's next-generation in-vehicle chips, Drive Thor, to enhance autonomous driving capabilities and digital features in its vehicles, Nvidia revealed.
Moreover, BYD plans to leverage Nvidia's technology to optimize its manufacturing processes, streamline supply chains, and create virtual showrooms, according to Danny Shapiro, Nvidia's vice-president for automotive. He confirmed that Drive Thor will be incorporated into BYD vehicles starting next year.
Other Chinese automakers such as $XPENG-W(09868.HK$ , GAC Aion’s Hyper brand, Zeekr (a Geely subsidiary), and Li Auto also announced expanded collaborations with Nvidia during the conference, highlighting the growing importance of AI in the automotive industry.

bullrider_21 Ah Vivi: Lidar is hardware. FSD is using vision only. Not good where there's glare. Can't park properly. Can't detect small objects. Sometimes crash into emergency vehicles because confused by the lights.
