Two important 2023 observations. $NIO Inc(NIO.US$ advanced as a company (BaaS, models, brand, capacity, houses, phones, chips, etc.) and NIO SP has been suppressed (down a lot YtD). A significant disconnect. Make no mistake, at some point there will be a marked correction for this disparity.
The suppression is driven by FUD and a lack of understanding of what has been required and achieved building their business foundation and innovative technologies that will carry the company for years to come.
This is a relatively new industry (EV) that is at odds with a long running established industry
(ICE). Not many even know NIO as a brand, let alone its attributes. As the shift to EVs continues worldwide, NIO will be well positioned for huge success and the SP will no longer be subjected to the nonsense seen over the past year.
It takes money to make money and NiO has invested wisely in their future. This could very much become a reincarnation of what happened with the growth of Japanese gas efficient auto industry of the 80s (Honda and Toyota) only now it's Chinese EVs.
China has embraced EVs with government support and their market alone is huge. No one is even close to NIO with battery swap, a major industry discriminator. They are cultivating an Apple like following to capture future generations of consumers. As the premium brand, the China product stigma is diminishing, much like what happened with Japanese products.
It will only be a matter of time for the SP to breakout. It already happened a few years back with $60+ ATH based on far less merit. Only requires patience, calm and foresight.
