Moofolio Vision: US Super Ten portfolio back on top

The resurgence in the $NASDAQ 100 Index (.NDX.US)$, and in particular stronger results from most of the super 10 portfolio stocks, has lifted the performance back to the top of the table. In contrast, both the core and satellite and the three stock portfolio (+2.0%) fell back as both gold and Australian retail stocks tumbled, with a surprise lift in local inflation raising worries about the financial health of consumers.

Of course none of this affected US stocks, and the reporting season gave the portfolio a boost overall. This is despite a big tumble in $Meta Platforms (META.US)$ shares, as shareholders registered their disapproval of its quarterly earnings and weaker outlook. The shares dropped 13% in an immediate response to the disappointment, and Meta remains the worst performing share in the US super 10 portfolio:

The ”ballast” stocks in the portfolio have also underperformed, with $Disney (DIS.US)$ and $McDonald's (MCD.US)$ in the red and $Walmart (WMT.US)$ barely squeaking out a gain. If market conditions change, they may become much more significant contributors, but the current trend towards higher-growth tech and AI driven stocks sees them lagging at the moment.

However, it’s that investment trend that’s lifting this portfolio is. $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ , $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ and $Alphabet-C (GOOG.US)$ are the stars, all up more than 20% since the portfolio was created. This means the US super 10 is outperforming both the $S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ and the $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ , although it is behind the $NASDAQ 100 Index (.NDX.US)$ :
