Please share your background, including age, location, profession, hobbies, and any other personal characteristics you'd like to highlight.
I am a third-year student at the University of Melbourne studying finance. I moved to Melbourne when I was in middle school. I enjoy cooking, exercise, swimming, and of course, stock trading.
Can you share your highlight moments (highlights) and low moments (lowlights) during trading?
Highlight: In my first five months of trading, I consistently made profits each month, achieving a yield close to 10%. This is something that many inexperienced traders cannot achieve.
Lowlight: I made a wrong earnings announcement prediction, causing my large position in the stock to drop by 30%.
Could you share how you achieved making profits in the first five months of trading?
Focusing on the overall market trend (such as indices like $S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$, $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$, $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$. If the market is rising, the best action is to do nothing with the stocks you've bought.
I will never chase the rally. I would pay attention to so-called star stocks like $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ and $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$. If I didn't understand those sectors when they were surging, I simply wouldn't enter the market, because it's better to miss out than to buy recklessly.
I believe my investment intuition is relatively good. After reviewing the fundamentals and trends of a stock, I would decisively buy, and once it reached my expectations, I would clear my position without caring about future gains that are irrelevant to me.
What's your routine for fundamental review?
It's essential to review earnings reports, as they are critically important and represent a company's development trends and market demand, among other factors.
Personally, I have a habit of checking the profit ratio provided by moomoo. If only a single-digit percentage, such as 3%, of people are profiting, it indicates that the stock's price is at a relatively low position. Additionally, I consider macro government policies. For instance, if a country increases tariffs on electric vehicles or import/export duties, the general direction may not be favorable for investment.
What was the biggest challenge you faced in your investment path? How did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge I faced was during peak times when stock earnings announcements had a devastating impact on most stocks, with many dropping by over 10%.
Initially, my mindset was affected like flowers exposed to severe cold, but now I have overcome these challenges. If you're earning money in the market, don't get too discouraged if you lose some along the way. After all, why did your money end up being earned? The stock market has ups and downs, something that should be accepted with patience.

If you could go back to when you were just learning, what investment or trading advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?
Please be completely empty-handed before March 15, 2025, and then let me fully invest in $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$.
Do you have any advice for other mooers?
Understand the market: Making money doesn't necessarily mean you're skilled; it might be the opportunities provided by the market. Many novices enter the stock market and make money in the first few months, thinking they are very capable and mistakenly attributing profits to their own abilities. However, the market environment is often more important than individual capability. If you enter during a bull market or at the beginning of an upward trend, most stocks will rise, and you could make money by buying almost anything. In such cases, profits are more a result of market conditions rather than personal skill.
Do less but do it right, avoid overtrading: Frequent trading increases the probability of losses. Ensure each trade has a clear rationale. Watch the market's heat and sentiment; enter the market when trading volume increases or when it breaks through a key point to make a profit, rather than buying randomly.
Reduce information noise, don't be swayed by the market: Make decisions based on data, not emotional operations. The stock market is flooded with information daily, such as financial news, stock commentary shows, investment bloggers on social media, etc. Without your own trading logic, it's easy to be influenced by this information, leading to emotional trading. For example, news might say a stock market is about to crash, urging you to sell off quickly, but the market might bounce back the next day. In summary, no one has the ability to predict the future. When everyone is buying frantically and becoming greedy, that's when you need to be fearful.
Understanding these details won't make you more money, but it can help you earn more rationally and steadily in the market, without being swayed by emotions and external influences.
What features on moomoo do you find particularly useful, practical, or enjoyable?
I previously used CommSec, where transaction fees were significantly higher compared to moomoo.
For example, a $10,000 AUD deposit in CommSec would cost $19.95, whereas in moomoo it only costs $3. Additionally, each stock on moomoo has its own dedicated discussion forum (stocks comment section), allowing me to see other investors' perspectives and share similar investment decisions which can actually resonate with me.
Do you have any feedback or suggestions for improving moomoo's features?
I would appreciate more moo points incentives, such as earning 300 points when depositing $5,000.
