MMINI - my mini investment idea

Good evening traders.
This a small story, about a very small account, operating for a small amount of time, with a small amount of cash. 🙂
After the end of a long-term relationship, and several years in figurative and (almost) literal wilderness, I found myself realising that I was in a very precarious position financially, and otherwise. 😵‍💫
WHAT TO DO?!?
I finally had a full-time job, reasonable wage, and some housing stability. Took a while, and a shedload of effort (that is a big story). 🧘
I needed to do something really useful with the very small amount of spare cash that I had; after trying Raiz, a term-deposit, and savings ‘buckets’ - I decided that these would simply not do for someone with no assests, trust-funds, or other chance of financial rescue or stability. And then I finally remembered shares. Hooray. 😎
Clearly I landed on the MooMoo trading platform as the one to use to begin my trader path.
Ian Verrender (ABC News) said, ‘you can never go wrong with energy, mining, or commodities (shares)’ and I remembered that as I began looking into what to buy.
My strategy, if one could call it that, was to choose an Australian mining stock for the medium-long term, because we’re good at those. So started with Fortescue. Seemed accessible - $11.78 when I first bought in April 2025 EDIT: sorry, that was Lynas! FMG was about $14-something - and reliable.
My budget was, and still is, $500 for an initial purchase. My goal is simply to make more with less, and to not let my small amounts make me feel that it’s not worth it.
… and when I work out how to add my FMG stats, I’ll put it up.
