Yes, the results were really very shocking and fascinating, and for that, I would like to take my hats off to SIA.
However, I felt a little disappointed with just 38 cents of dividends. How I wish they could have proposed 10 cents more.
Yes ! I understand that they may have to use the extra funds to redeem the balance 2021 MCB.
So after clearing all the MCBs, am I right to say that starting next year, we are going to enjoy fat dividends ?
Nevertheless, 38 cents is also not bad, overall the total dividends for this year is already 48 cents, and they work out to be around 7% per annum base on $6.83 which is much better then Singapore Government Bonds or T-Bills.
Or are they going to use the new balance to purchase new aircrafts ?
Well, later when the market opens, it may not be so volatile as expected. And I don't think it will even break the $7 barrier. And $6.80 would become a strong support. Could be another boring market again.
Again, it's just be my own analogy, I can be wrong.

Terra : Good for SIA to redeem the remaining MCBs and this will result in a lower financing cost for the business.
Terra : Moving ahead, I do have some concerns about their ability to maintain their revenue and profits. Competing capacities have been increasing and we are likely to see the heavy discounting that we enjoyed prior to 2020.
Terra : Investment in Air India will take many years to see any meaningful contribution to top and bottom line.
Terra : But all being said, FY 24/25 should be another good year for SIA. Without the MCB liabilities, I also expect good dividends payout. I will continue to accumulate when the prices dip
Letmebefire : I think it is also because of giving out 7.94 month bonus to employees hence reducing dividends. Sia is good to reward employees in such a grand way
