Malaysia Morning Wrap | CIMB Unveils RM2 Billion Shareholder Payout Plan Over Two Years, Q3 Net Profit Up to RM2.08 Billion
🔔Stocks to Watch
$CIMB (1023.MY)$ plans to return up to RM2 billion to shareholders over two years. In Q3 2025, net profit rose 2.3% YoY to RM2.08 billion, driven by strong trading and non-interest income, which offset a drop in net interest income.
$TENAGA (5347.MY)$ reported a 39.3% decline in third-quarter net profit, dropping to RM876.9 million from RM1.45 billion a year ago, mainly due to the absence of a large foreign exchange gain recorded previously. Despite this, revenue grew 20.2% to RM17.25 billion, up from RM14.35 billion.
UEM Group, Khazanah’s wholly-owned vehicle, has offered RM 1.10 a share to privatise $EDGENTA (1368.MY)$ via a selective capital reduction.
$SUPERMX (7106.MY)$ posted a record quarterly loss of RM134.6 million for Q1 2026, more than double the RM64.6 million loss of the prior year, dragged down by a RM119.5 million write-off on shuttered facilities and excess inventory. Revenue slipped 8.5 % to RM205.6 million, extending the company’s losing streak to 12 straight quarters.
$CAPITALA (5099.MY)$, nearing completion of its AirAsia aviation divestment, remains confident in achieving most internal goals for FY2025, though revenue may lag due to delayed aircraft reactivations. In Q3 2025, including its discontinued airline operations, net profit dropped to RM695 million from RM1.64 billion a year earlier, mainly because of prior-year foreign-exchange gains that did not recur.
$AAX (5238.MY)$ reported a sharp 77% drop in Q3 2025 net profit to RM27.75 million, down from RM121.64 million a year ago, despite revenue inching up 1.06% to RM803.49 million. The decline was driven by higher operating expenses, finance costs, and a steep 85% fall in foreign exchange gains.
$SPRITZER (7103.MY)$’s Q3 2025 net profit hit a new high of RM23.6 million, up 38% YoY and 4% above the prior record set in 2Q, driven by higher sales volume, increased selling prices and lower raw-material costs. Revenue climbed 16% YoY to RM170 million.
$PADINI (7052.MY)$’s Q1 2026 net profit surged 77% to RM20.4 million, driven by a richer product mix and wider margins; gross margin improved to 40% while revenue inched up only 2% to RM401.1 million on soft consumer demand.
$MNHLDG (0245.MY)$ posted a record quarterly net profit of RM21.6 million for Q1 2026, three times the RM7.1 million earned last year, as its substation-engineering division sped up project delivery. Revenue likewise doubled to RM214 million from RM103 million.
$EKOVEST (8877.MY)$ has broken a seven-quarter loss streak, posting a net profit of RM8.28 million for Q1 2026, compared with a RM24.86 million loss the previous year. This turnaround was driven by government compensation for a 2024 toll-rate freeze and a 21.8% rise in revenue to RM329.39 million.
$SLVEST (0215.MY)$ has landed a RM142.3 million contract to engineer, procure, construct and commission a 30 MW solar plant and its grid connection in Kulim, Kedah, through the Corporate Green Power Programme.
$SSB8 (0045.MY)$ has been awarded a RM15.18 million contract for sub-structure works at a proposed seven-storey private hospital and three-storey car park in Bukit Katil, Melaka.
