Thank you all for your hard work (^o^)♪
The explanation given was that operating profit appeared low in Q1 due to concentrated factory maintenance, leading to increased repair and fixed costs, as well as reduced profits from production cuts. However, it was emphasized that the results landed in line with plans.
The problem is the Q2 earnings(;^ω^)
Typically, the first half of the year lands below plan, and they issue downward revisions to the full-year forecast. Judging by the way the Q1 earnings presentation materials were put together, I don't think a downward revision is permissible. However, since the key to securing profits is undoubtedly raising selling prices through cost pass-throughs, I hope they accelerate price hikes.
I feel they should find a better way to present the increase in depreciation from growth investments, which continues to exceed the reduction in labor, logistics, and depreciation costs resulting from business withdrawals. Specifically, I'm referring to EBITDA. Since it's not an accounting standard, I think they can make it look however favorable they wish (;^ω^).
