Looking back at Malaysia's GDP, what do you think of Q2?
The chart above shows Malaysia's GDP trend over the past 30 years. The past 3 negative growth times were the Asian financial turmoil, the US subprime mortgage storm, and the 2020 COVID-19 blockade.
Growth in 2022 is due to the low base in 2021. The IMF expects China's GDP in 2023 to be between 4.3 and 4.5%. Malaysia's GDP growth in the first quarter was 5.6%. Consumption growth slowed in Q2 and exports declined. The market expects GDP growth to be inferior to Q1.
The Q2 GDP will be released this Friday. You might as well leave a message and guess what percentage of GDP will be in Q2. The author's own lottery numbers are 3.6%. You might as well leave a comment on the numbers you've predicted. Let's see who guesses the closest number on Friday. 😎
