Live Stock News: Market Climbs, TikTok Ban Confirmed, Intel for Sale, Week Ends with Positivity
Happy Friday, investors, it's January 17th. The Scotus upheld the TikTok ban, which was expected over the weekend unless the freshly sworn-in President Trump changes things on Monday. The market is climbing; Trump and Xi talked about Fentanyl over the phone; Bitcoin is flying to near highs. It looks like the market made it through the first week of earnings on the positive side. Here are Live Stock moves:
CORRECTION: In the video upload, I incorrectly stated that the Dow was falling. It is climbing.
$Intel (INTC.US)$ climbed as much as 9% after a news report  Friday from Bloomberg and a tech newsletter called SemiAccurate that said a firm out there was trying to buy Intel "whole." Apparently, the firm mentioned without name has the resources to buy a $90B firm outright.
$Schlumberger (SLB.US)$ a Houston-based oil drilling company with a funny name rose 7%, just beating out Intel for the place of highest percentage gainer on the S&P 500 Friday. the firm reported earnings that beat estimates, with revenue of $9.28 billion.
$Strategy (MSTR.US)$ and other Bitcoin stocks were higher Friday following Bitcoins climb back above 100k, and closer to its high of $108k. Crypto firms were the highest trending industry list on moomoo, up 6% overall. Names like $MARA Holdings (MARA.US)$ climbed more than 10%. MSTR was up 6%.

Elsewhere in the economy,   $Crude Oil Futures(APR5) (CLmain.US)$ stayed at $77, and hit nearly $80 earlier in the week, highs not seen since October. Gold and silver climbed, and longer-term treasuries fell while the 2-year climbed.   $Bitcoin (BTC.CC)$ broke through $104k briefly.
Overall, the market climbed to end what felt like a negative week with a high note.
Just past 11:13 am ET the     $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ traded +1.09%, the         $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ climbed 0.95%, and the     $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ climbed 1.56%.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, builders broke ground on 1.49 million houses in December, up 15%, the most since last March.
Yesterday, users could not belive it when I said Philly was doing well. It was like I was speaking another language.
