The Commercial Lunar Payload Services(CLPS) is one of the NASA Artemis program, Tlthe program's stated long-term goal is to establish a permanent base on the Moon to facilitate human missions to Mars. So, the main mission target of IM1 is delivering science device or commercial equipment to the moon, even the machine was tipped down, the payloads were still functional then that's successful, just like when you receive your parcel you will not care about the driver was good or not. Compared to the first CLPS attempt by Astrobotic Technology, which even couldn't go further than earth orbit, the IM1 was landing on the moon and most of the payloads was working, that's why NASA and IM said it's a huge success.
