Intel plans to equip future cars with AI PCs
The 2024 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is in full swing in Las Vegas with more AI products set to make their debut. Currently, the demand for intelligent chips has skyrocketed. Especially the AI transformation of essential devices, like smartphones, office equipment, and vehicles, has become a fiercely contested battleground for major industry players.
During the show, Intel, which has been slightly lagging in AI chip development, made a high-profile announcement that it will release an AI chip for automotive artificial intelligence based on AI PC technology, directly competing with Qualcomm and NVIDIA.
Chips can be categorized into eight types, including logic chips, such as the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), memory chips for data storage in computers and phones, and analog chips , such as 5G chips commonly used in telecommunications. Among them, logic chips create the largest revenue stream, accounting for over 30% of the industry's total sales in 2022.
