70108039 : if you buy no matter how many times buy in 1 day ....and if you sell on that day yes daytrade count ....if 2 sell in 1 day then 2 daytrade count
8 Seconds : Also if you do not have any day trades and you intend to hold overnight and trade the following day, be very careful not to purchase a single share of the same stock prior to the intended sale, otherwise this will be considered a day trade.
Scapey T Goat : you can test this for yourself using limit orders (just set the limit at some ridiculous amount) with PDT protection enabled.
if you submit an order that counts as a day trade, the number will decrease from 3 to 2. you can cancel the order and the counter will reset. if the number doesn't decrease then it won't count as a day trade.
