Huawei-backed Aito says gets 50,000 orders for M7 car since relaunch

* Aito received over 50,000 orders for its M7 model in the first 25 days since its relaunch in October
* The orders would put Aito among China's top-selling new energy vehicle manufacturers based on August sales data
* Aito is a Huawei-backed electric vehicle brand made in partnership with Seres Group
* The M7 was first launched in July 2022 and had shipped 27,405 units as of June 2022
* The new M7 has a lower starting price point and is a five-seater version of the original
* Huawei repeatedly emphasizes that it does not make cars on its own but helps other automakers make better vehicles

Huawei’s intelligent automotive solution business brought in one billion yuan revenue in the first half of this year, a tiny fraction of the 310.9 billion yuan its total business earned over that period, the company said in August.
