HSI Opens Falling 116 pts

US stocks closed higher, led by technology stocks, but Hong Kong stocks opened lower this morning. $Hang Seng Index (800000.HK)$ 116 points or 0.7% lower at 16,978. $Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (800100.HK)$ opened down 31 points or 0.5% at 5,972. $Hang Seng TECH Index (800700.HK)$ opened declining 14 points or 0.4% at 3,523.

Financial stocks, $HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)$ opened 1.6% lower at $63.8, while $HKEX (00388.HK)$ and $AIA (01299.HK)$ opened 1.2% and 1.9% lower. Gold price lifted and is approaching a record high, $ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK)$ opened elevating 1.8%. Property manager $CHINA RES MIXC (01209.HK)$ opened down 2.4%.

$CGN NEW ENERGY (01811.HK)$ may be reconsidered for privatisation. Its shares opened 1.7% higher at $2.34.
