HSI Closes Lifting 82 pts; Commodity Stocks See Speculation

$Hang Seng Index(800000.HK)$ lifted 82 points or 0.4% to close at 19,636. $Hang Seng China Enterprises Index(800100.HK)$ inclined 30 points or 0.4% to close at 6,964. $Hang Seng TECH Index(800700.HK)$ rose 22 points or 0.6% to close at 4,135. The total turnover for the whole day was $156.477 billion.

The Government Cabinet of Iran confirmed the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter accident. Markets were concerned about the effect of geopolitical tensions on oil prices. $CNOOC(00883.HK)$ increased 1.6%, while $CHINA OILFIELD(02883.HK)$ surged 6.4%.

Precious metal stocks advanced, as silver prices reached a high of over 11 years. $CHI SILVER GP(00815.HK)$ skyrocketed 54%. Gold prices also rose. $ZHAOJIN MINING(01818.HK)$ , $SD GOLD(01787.HK)$ and $ZIJIN MINING(02899.HK)$ lifted 4.2% to 4.9%. Gold jewellery retailer $CHOW TAI FOOK(01929.HK)$ also added 3.5%.
