[Google (GOOG) Willow Quantum Chip Achieves Breakthrough! Alphabet’s Google announced that an algorithm running on its “Willow” quantum computing chip can be reproducibly run on similar platforms, outperforming traditional supercomputers.
Google stated that this breakthrough paves the way for practical applications of quantum technology within the next five years. The company will continue to advance its commercial and scientific applications by scaling up the chip and improving its accuracy, anticipating initial applications within the next five years.
Snap (SNAP) May Add AR Shopping to its AR Glasses
Snap recently held its Lens Fest developer event, during which it announced the release of its consumer AR glasses, Specs, next year. The event also showcased a series of new filter features.
Snap stated that Specs will support direct shopping within the glasses. A new software tool called Commerce Kit will allow some developers to accept payments directly within the glasses, which can be used to purchase digital goods or as an upgrade to unlock advanced features. It’s worth noting that many developers are also creating interesting AR filters for Snap. For example, Tripisor is developing an AR filter that overlays “trusted insights” onto your field of view when you encounter restaurants, stores, and other places in the real world.

[Amazon (AMZN) Releases “Amelia” Smart Glasses with a Built-in Display and Always-On Camera]
On October 23rd, Amazon officially announced the release of smart glasses called “Amelia”—glasses with a built-in display and always-on camera to assist drivers while driving.
It is understood that this product can help drivers find the correct package in the delivery vehicle, provide turn-by-turn directions to the correct address, and take photos directly after the delivery without the driver having to pull out their phone.
According to Amazon, hundreds of drivers have tested an early version of this technology. The company has high hopes for the future of these glasses and plans to integrate more artificial intelligence (AI) features in subsequent versions.
Meta (META) is now opening applications for its Aria Gen 2 AI glasses to researchers.
Meta’s Aria project, launched in 2020, has already seen over 1,000 first-generation Aria devices deployed by nearly 300 academic labs in 27 countries worldwide, conducting egocentric research in contextual AI, human-computer interaction, and robotics.
Meta has announced that researchers can now apply for Aria Gen 2 devices, with plans to roll them out to qualified applicants in the second quarter of 2026.
Meta is also providing two core resources for the community to gain a deeper understanding of Aria Gen 2: a device whitepaper and a pilot dataset. The whitepaper provides a comprehensive comparison of Aria Gen 1 and Aria Gen 2, demonstrating how this new generation of devices will revolutionize research productivity.

Google (GOOG) Photos Adds Immersive Features
Recently, Android Authority discovered a new “Spatial” tab in Google Photos version 7.50, which lists media files in the album suitable for large-screen viewing. Additionally, when users open a regular photo, a “Go Immersive” prompt will pop up above it. Currently, using this feature on mobile phones results in an error message, suggesting it may be a headset-exclusive feature.

[WiMi (WIMI) Researches MetaIDS, Integrating Blockchain and Federated Learning Technology, to Build a Metaverse Security Ecosystem]
With the rapid rise of the metaverse as the next-generation internet, its virtual world is integrating cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, blockchain, digital twins, augmented reality/virtual reality, artificial intelligence, 5G/6G wireless networks, and edge computing/cloud computing at an unprecedented scale and depth, providing users with immersive and highly interactive virtual experiences.
However, the metaverse’s openness and massive data interaction make it subject to a wide variety of security threats that are difficult to predict. Furthermore, emerging attack methods such as visual deception and environmental manipulation in virtual reality technology pose a direct threat to users’ cognitive security. Traditional security approaches, such as centralized monitoring and defense systems, are insufficient in the face of such a large and dynamically changing metaverse environment.
To address these challenges, Wimi Hologram Cloud Inc. is exploring a Metaverse Privacy-Preserving Collaborative Intrusion Detection System (MetaIDS) based on blockchain and federated learning, aiming to provide security for the metaverse. The core design of the MetaIDS system lies in its decentralization, privacy protection, and efficient collaboration, building an impenetrable security line for the Metaverse. It leverages blockchain’s distributed ledger technology to achieve decentralized intrusion detection management.
To protect data privacy, MetaIDS innovatively introduces a federated learning (FL) mechanism. FL allows participants to train models locally and only send model updates, not raw data, to a central server for aggregation. This ensures data privacy while optimizing the global model.
Within the federated learning framework, MetaIDS also employs advanced encryption techniques (such as homomorphic encryption and differential privacy) to protect data privacy during model updates, while optimizing algorithms to reduce communication overhead and computational complexity. Furthermore, the system devises intelligent model aggregation strategies to ensure that the accuracy and generalization capabilities of the global model are improved while protecting privacy.
As the Metaverse expands, interactions between different blockchain networks will become increasingly frequent. WiMiMetaIDS may support cross-chain security collaboration in the future, enabling information sharing and coordinated threat defense across different blockchain ecosystems, contributing to the construction of a secure, trusted, and prosperous Metaverse ecosystem.

Alibaba (BABA) Launches Pre-Orders for Quark AI Glasses, Starting at 3,699 RMB After Platform Subsidy
Pre-orders for Quark AI Glasses began at midnight on October 24th on the Quark Smart Devices Tmall flagship store. Official stores on JD.com, Douyin, and other platforms also opened pre-orders for one RMB. Shipments will begin on these platforms around early December.
Quark insiders stated that the current price is not the official launch price, which will be announced at the end of the year. However, due to Tmall’s platform subsidies, Double 11 (Singles’ Day) is definitely the best time to buy.
Simply looking at the hardware, the Quark AI Glasses S1 not only features dual flagship chipsets, the Qualcomm AR1 and Hengxuan BES2800 processors, but also utilizes a dual-optical binocular display with adjustable front-to-back and up-down positions, tailored to the human eye’s visual preferences while ensuring comfort in various scenarios. This “invisible screen” provides a more intuitive way to present information, allowing users to view the information they need without having to lower their head. As the culmination of Alibaba’s AI capabilities and ecosystem collaboration, Quark AI Glasses fully utilize Quark AI capabilities, building a super AI personal assistant based on Alibaba’s latest Qwen closed-source model. They excel in daily AI Q&A, AI tools, and lifestyle services related to travel, shopping, and payments.
