Holographic / VR / AR Industry Development Dynamic Weekly Report for Week 7 of 2024(February 12- 18)

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a post on Platform X that Tesla’s video generation technology is the best in the world, even surpassing OpenAI’s Sora.
A day earlier, Musk hinted that Tesla had mastered OpenAI-like video generation technology a year ago. One X user posted: ” What is OpenAI’s Sora having to do with Tesla’s FSD v12? Musk responded, ” Tesla has been able to generate real-world videos with accurate physics for about a year. It’s not particularly interesting, because all the training data comes from cars, so it looks like a Tesla video, albeit a dynamically generated (not a memory) world.”
Musk later shared several self-driving videos that Tesla created a year ago, saying in response to a user’s comment: ” Where Tesla video generation surpasses OpenAI is that it predicts extremely accurate physical scenarios. This is crucial for autonomous driving.”
In the early hours of February 16, OpenAI released the latest “Wensheng Video” model, Sora, along with a number of videos generated by Sora. Compared to the current mainstream second version of the “Wensheng Video” industry, the Sora can generate a one-minute video at once.
Sora’s release has once again attracted the attention of the entire market. Some people believe that Sora’s innovative model architecture has opened a new path for the development of large models, others believe that the launch of Sora has greatly advanced the arrival of general AI, and some market participants say that Sora’s popularity is closely linked to OpenAI’s superb marketing. Predictably, the emergence of Sora will undoubtedly promote artificial intelligence to lead a new round of industry change.

Apple Vision Pro More than 1,000 apps
Apple says the Apple Vision Pro has more than 1,000 apps, and more than 1.5 million iPad apps that are compatible with the Vision Pro and able to run on the device. When the Vision Pro was released, Apple said the headset had more than 600 apps, so the number of apps has increased by more than 400 in the weeks since the Vision Pro launch.
Currently, Vision Pro and visionOS are in their early stages, and since the product is only available in the US, many popular apps may not be updated for visionOS until they are available in the global market.
Nvidia will use AI to design AI chips
According to Business Insider, companies are competing for Nvidia’s limited GPU supply of GPU used to train and build AI products, and the AI industry is booming. Now, the chip giant is using its own AI systems to speed up chip production, apparently to keep up with demand.
Nvidia has developed an AI system called ChipNeMo designed to speed up production of its GPU. Design a GPU usually requires significant manpower. Nvidia says it typically takes nearly 1,000 people to build a chip, and each person needs to understand how the different parts of the design process work together.

Mark Gurman: The Apple Vision Pro may need four generations to reach the ” ideal form
Mark Gurman In the article, he noted that some people on Apple’s headphone development team believe that four consecutive generations of devices may be needed to achieve the “ideal form” of Apple’s Vision Pro headset. Many Vision Pro users consider the headphones themselves too bulky for long-term use, making the miniaturization of the one-generation product an important touchstone for improvement. If the Apple team can solve these problems in four generations, Gurman believes the Vision Pro will eventually replace the iPad.
Meta CTO: The Meta Quest will restore the eye movement tracking function
Recently, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth talked about eye tracking technology when streaming live on its social platform. The 2022 Quest Pro features eye tracking, which the new headset Quest 3 eliminates.(In contrast, Vision Pro sees it as one of the core functions, with the device integrating four eye-tracking modules for interaction, gaze rendering, etc.).
Bosworth Mentioned that eye-tracking is one of the things it ” continues to push forward and come back to.”Similarly, Zuckerberg recently said Meta will restore eye tracking, but has not determine which future headset will use the technology.
Beyond the traditional visual horizon, WiMi Hologram Cloud (NASDAQ: WIMI) develops new AR products
With the rapid development of technology today, holographic display technology has always been at the forefront of the immersive experience of the future. With the continuous development of science and technology, virtual reality and augmented reality technology have moved from the concept of science fiction movies to real life. However, in the field of holographic display mounted, there have been a series of technical bottlenecks, including viewing discomfort, inconvenient focus adjustment, and device complexity.
In this context, WiMi Hologram Cloud focuses on solving the technical bottleneck of holographic headset display, challenging the traditional display mode, and improving the overall user experience. Using the holographic eye-tracking system, pupil-adjustable optical system and real-time FOV digital control in the product, we have developed WIMI HoloAR Lens, which involves the deep cooperation of multiple disciplines, including optical engineering, computer vision, human-computer interaction and other fields.
WiMi Hologram Cloud HoloAR Lens’s technology is widely used not only in the individual consumer market, providing more immersive, personalized virtual reality experiences, but also in professional fields such as healthcare, education and industry. With the holographic eye-tracking focus system, users do not need to worry about focus adjustment and enjoy a more natural viewing experience. The optical structure system with adjustable optics and pupil distance ensures that each user can adjust the device according to the individual eye characteristics to improve the wearing comfort.
Brilliant Labs The new “Frame” multimodal AI glasses, for $349
AI glasses developer Brilliant Labs has announced the launch of “Frame” glasses with integrated multi-modal AI assistants. Brilliant Labs Said that Frame’s capabilities are enhanced by an AI assistant called “Noa”. The Noa is said to be supported by an integrated multi-modal generative AI system that can run multiple AI models simultaneously, capable of real-world visual processing, novel image generation, and real-time speech recognition and translation.
