$Hang Seng Index(800000.HK$ [Transferred from Bloomberg] MEPs to Promote Bill Prohibiting Mutual Fund Investments from Tracking Chinese Stock Index Products
Under a new bill from the U.S. Congress, the country's mutual fund will not be able to invest in some products that track Chinese stock indexes.
The bill is one of the fiercest attacks by US lawmakers on investment in China to date, but it still faces significant obstacles to formal legislation. It's one of several measures introduced Wednesday by Indiana Republican Victoria Spartz and California Democrat Brad Sherman. These measures are aimed at businesses that undermine American interests among the population.
