$DBS Group Holdings(D05.SG$ Do you know that if you bought in a month ago when it was $33-34 and sold the shares now, the capital gains would have covered one year's worth of dividends already. Yet I bet you there are still people holding on just for $0.54 which I will never understand. Holding onto REITs for dividends make sense, but holding onto bank stocks just doesnt.

R and R : People don't buy DBS for just 1 quarter dividend, but for many years of dividend. I bought during covid time at $19 and I have no intention of selling. Dividend is enough to cover my expense. Thats a long term investor mindset.
Red-Haired Shanks : Yes you are partially right, dbs price fluctuated in btw $31-34 in year 2022 to 2023, but doesnt mean its own value will stay within that range forever

Why would I want to wait 12 months when I can get that amount within a few days or weeks. Rinse and repeat, and I will get way more than whatever dividends DBS offers.
