European stocks end the week with a sharp rise
In the European stock market on Friday, expectations for interest rate cuts by major central banks and strong corporate performance received long-term support, and prices rose steadily and closed.
The Eurozone Stoxx 50 Index rose 0.5%, closed at 5,081, a 23-year high, and rose 3.2% on a weekly basis.
Meanwhile, the all-European Stoxx 600 index rose 0.7% and closed at a new record of 521, marking a 3% increase for the week.
In the minutes of the ECB's latest board meeting, it was shown that the ECB board of directors is expecting an early convergence of the inflation rate to the 2% target, and is accepting interest rate cuts in June to address growth concerns.
The rise in the corporate sector was led by the high-tech sector, where ASML shares rose 2% and Infineon rose 3%, further increasing their momentum since announcing good financial results this week, and recorded a 20% rise since last Friday.
Major industrial companies also recorded significant gains, with Siemens and Schneider each increasing by nearly 2%.
