Energy, materials stocks weigh on S&P 500

Energy and materials stocks were among the biggest underperformers Tuesday, weighing on the S&P 500.
The energy sector fell 2.3%. $EQT Corp(EQT.US)$ and APA Corp were the biggest laggards, last down more than 4% each. $EOG Resources(EOG.US)$ , $Marathon Oil(MRO.US)$ and Schlumberger fell at least 3%.
The materials sector dropped 1.8%. Air Products $Air Products & Chemicals(APD.US)$ and Chemicals sank nearly 12%, while Freeport-McMoRan slumped 3.4%. Newmont $Newmont(NEM.US)$ and Celanese $Celanese Corp(CE.US)$ dipped more than 2% each. $SPDR S&P 500 ETF(SPY.US)$ $S&P 500 Index(.SPX.US)$
