Having a full-time job did not allow me to divert time to learn more about other than doing simple and low risk investment. My investment portfolio was largely made up of low risk assets with a few technology stocks. The returns were satisfactory given that I did little to manage my portfolio. I tried to pick some US dividend stocks towards the end of the year.  I managed to receive the dividends and sold 5 out of 8 of the dividend stocks with capital gains, I did not manage to dispose the remaining 3 stocks. The lesson learnt is to set a price to sell to protect my capital and to follow and execute my plan accordingly.

I am taking a break from work this year. I will be contented if I can have investment returns to cover my daily expenses. I believe all successful investments start humble and small for any ordinary retail investors.
