🎯 Earnings Season Strategy Blog: My Data-Driven Game Plan

My Earnings Options Playbook
My Instrument & Target
This earnings season, I’m closely watching $Pfizer (PFE.US)$, $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$, and $Apple (AAPL.US)$. Pfizer caught my attention after its Q3 report showed a strong rebound in EPS (+42.5% above estimates) and improved cost management—proof that its post-COVID transformation is taking hold. NVIDIA remains a volatility magnet due to AI-sector momentum and shifting demand expectations, while Apple’s steady fundamentals and services growth keep it a defensive play amid market uncertainty. Together, these names balance innovation, resilience, and momentum—three key factors in my watchlist.

My Outline Strategy & Goal
My strategy this quarter is a blend of volatility capture and long-term positioning. For high-volatility plays like NVIDIA, I plan to sell short-term straddles to benefit from the implied volatility crush following earnings. For Pfizer, I’m taking a post-earnings accumulation approach, building long-term positions after confirmation of stable guidance and margin expansion. With Apple, I lean toward cash-secured puts, using any short-term dips as entry points for long-term growth exposure. The overarching goal is to generate steady income from option premiums while accumulating fundamentally strong companies trading at attractive valuations.

Show my Proof
I tracked PFE at $25.50 (+4.6%) post-earnings and monitored NVDA’s IV levels before release. While I won’t disclose full P&L, I’ve been documenting trades and outcomes in my Moomoo account to evaluate consistency and edge.

My Key Learnings
This season reinforced that discipline and preparation outweigh prediction. Companies that managed expenses and guided conservatively tended to outperform post-earnings. I learned to focus less on “beating numbers” and more on operational efficiency, margin trends, and forward guidance. Using Moomoo’s Earnings Hub helped me quickly compare performance, visualize trends, and make data-backed decisions. Above all, I’ve realized that successful earnings trading is about balancing risk and timing—letting fundamentals and volatility work together instead of against you.
