For the food projects that I am handling, mostly in the Middle East and Africa, the profit is a profitable hit by the increase in cost and depreciation of local currency. It's really pathetic. Watching the locals work so hard, their salaries have been cut in half, and they are still working very seriously, I'm afraid of getting fired. The bosses were also powerless; they couldn't raise their salaries; they didn't earn enough money to pay back the US dollars.

razo2OP Falling angel: sorry to hear that. I know is hard as the rental in sg has gone bananas. easily I can say the rental went up by at least 30% minimum if not more since the long term bond yield has gone up.
but sadly the salary didn't go up that much. so alot of workers feel the pain. Malaysia is suffering a double recession+inflation. but believe it or not Malaysia inflation not as bad as it is very self sustaining country. they have everything to hedge against inflation.
Malaysia produce own food, got water, got oil and gas, got manufacturing, got some raw materials. so technically speaking still ok.
