why not sell a put today and collect the premium the option expires at 4:00 today potentially worthless.. you can sell a 46 put you'll collect $0.76 you see it here I circled it if you sell 10 contracts that's the same as a thousand shares you'd collect $760 if the stock ETF falls below 46 at the close today you'll be put the stock at $46 so your cost basis is 46 minus the premium 76 cents that you received so you're at like 45.24 cost. if the option expires worthless you collected a premium for nothing that's what I'm doing on the open I'm selling 50 contracts I'll make about $3,800 today if I get put the ETF I'm fine with it because the trend is higher
