$CoreWeave (CRWV.US)$ Oracle Delays Some OpenAI Data Centers to 2028
Oracle Corp. has delayed completion of some data centers it is building for OpenAI to 2028 from 2027, according to people familiar with the matter, citing labor and material shortages. The projects are part of a $300 billion contract signed this summer to provide computing power for OpenAI. Oracle and OpenAI declined to comment. Despite the delays, Oracle says timelines remain ambitious. “We have ambitious achievable goals for capacity delivery worldwide,” said Clay Magouyrk, Oracle Co-Chief Executive Officer, noting that the first OpenAI data center in Abilene, Texas, is on track with more than 96,000 Nvidia Corp. chips delivered.
