Cloud industry expert and partner shares his views on what he is seeing from clients right now and the hyper scalers:

- All three cloud providers $Amazon(AMZN.US)$ , $Microsoft(MSFT.US)$ , and $Alphabet-A(GOOGL.US)$ , look at their partners in two ways now. One as a way to provide professional services to enable new growth for customers and two as a sales partner to drive new logos.

- Five years ago, you could be a mediocre cloud partner and still get a lot of business; today, that is much harder. Still, there is a large amount of workload on-prem.

- The experts now see a massive shift towards data modernization because of AI. He is seeing an increasing number of customers making plans to move away from legacy or licensed databases to cloud databases.

- He thinks the cloud providers are smart and not rushing to undercut each other and ruin the market.

- The expert sees $GOOGL's BigQuery as an advantage, but also companies like Databricks and $Snowflake(SNOW.US)$ , even though they are frenemies in relation to the hyperscalers.

- In his opinion, the pace of infrastructure migrations to the $GOOGL cloud froze for most of the year as organizations paused such activities. On the other hand, he didn't get the impression that AWS slowed down that much in the same period.
