China sanctions 3 companies including Boeing Defense Division - for arms sales to Taiwan
China has imposed sanctions on three US Department of Defense contractors. There seems to be a strong symbolic meaning of expressing dissatisfaction with the sale of arms by the United States to Taiwan on the day Mr. Yori Qingtoku takes office as Taiwan's president.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced in a statement on the 20th that three companies, Boeing's defense/space/security division BDS, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, and General Dynamics Land Systems, were added to the “unreliable entity” list due to arms supply to Taiwan.
