Immigrant individuals are surpassing Canadian natives in terms of engagement with the labor market. This trend is particularly pronounced among workers over the age of 55, who are opting to extend their working lives and delay retirement.

The extended periods of employment for immigrants are correlating with improved financial results. The wage disparity between immigrants and those born in Canada has been progressively diminishing since the mid-2010s, reaching its smallest margin in twenty years.

Evidence shows that the increasing integration of immigrant workers into Canada's labor force is alleviating the strain on the workforce caused by the retirement of the baby boomer generation, even as the labor force participation of those born in Canada shows a downward trajectory.

Canadian economic output increased slightly more than expected in January thanks to a recovery following the end of public-sector strikes in Quebec and a rebound in manufacturing activity.
