Caesar
The date was January 10, the year 49 BC. The place: the banks of the Rubicon River on the northern border of Italy. A victorious Julius Caesar stared across the river where rested Roman soil. By Senatorial order, he had been told to disband his army after his conquests in Gaul and return to civilian life. Sensing a one time chance for power, Caesar knew that if he crossed the river with his loyal army, there would be no turning back. He would either become a dictator of Rome, or fail trying. "Alea iacta est," Caesar said making up his mind, "The dle is cast." His troops began to cross the river and Caesar would go on to become one of the most well known men of history.
We are given many choices day in and day out in the market that are points of no return. When we hit the "buy" or "sell" button and the order is executed, there is no taking it back. We live with the consequences of our choices and they are OUR choices, not someone else's.
Caesar took the dice into his own hand and cast it. You can also do so day in and day out by being in charge of your positions, knowing your price targets, and making sure Wall Street, hedgies, and chat rooms don't interfere with your plan. You are the master of your fate.
"Alea iacta est" indeed.

Trytosaveabit : What a beautiful Soliloquy! And wow so very on point about how people should look at their buy/sell! But not only in the market, life itself! Personal responsibility sure seems like a thing of the past for so many, wrongly. And yet it’s perpetuated buy so many in positions of power that nothing is your fault! Thank you so much for sharing this! LIKE!
OptionalOptionsOP Trytosaveabit: Really appreciate you taking the time to write this. Thank you so much and yes, it is something lacking more in the world. We need more of it!
