BYD sells record 301,903 NEVs in Nov 2023
BYD saw another record month of new energy vehicle (NEV) sales, albeit at a slower rate.
The Chinese NEV giant continued to see growth in battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales last month, while plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sales were down slightly from Oct.
BYD's NEVs include passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles, with sales of passenger NEVs up 31.07% to a record 301,378 units in Nov, essentially unchanged from 301,095 units in Oct.
Among passenger NEVs, BEVs sold 170,150 units in Nov, up 49.37% year-on-year and up 2.81% from Oct.
BYD sold 131,228 units of passenger PHEVs in November, up 13.1% year-on-year while down 3.22% from Oct.
In November, BYD sold a record 30,629 NEVs in overseas markets, up 148.6% year-on-year and essentially flat from 30,521 in Oct.
In addition to being China's largest NEV company, BYD is also China's 2nd-largest power battery maker.
BYD's installed capacity of power and energy storage batteries amounted to about 16.945 GWh in Nov, up 54% year-on-year and up 10.85% from Oct.
In the Jan-Nov period, BYD sold 2,683,374 NEVs, up 64.8% year-on-year.
BYD aims to sell at least 3 million vehicles this year and strives to reach 3.6 million, the company's chairman and president Wang Chuanfu said in late Mar.
That means BYD will reach its 3 million target by selling about 317,000 NEVs in Dec.
BYD sold 2,672,728 passenger NEVs in the Jan-Nov period, up 64.7% year-on-year.
BYD sold 1,384,068 passenger BEVs in the Jan-Nov period, up 73.18% year-on-year.
It sold 1,288,660 passenger PHEVs in the Jan-Nov period, up 56.47% year-on-year.
BYD sold 206,670 overseas NEVs in the Jan-Nov period.
In Jan-Nov, BYD's installed base of power and energy storage batteries amounted to about 133.163 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 69.24%.
