BYD: No Intentions to Enter US EV Market
Stella Li, CEO of BYD's Americas branch, stated at a California event that BYD, as an electric vehicle manufacturer, shouldn't face the same restrictions as TikTok $ByteDance(FT0001$ and Huawei $Huawei Hongmong(BK0795.SH$ in the US.
Geopolitical tensions have impacted BYD and the EV market, but Li believes it's unjust to link a Chinese company to the government. She asserts BYD should be viewed as a global player.
Despite BYD's overtaking of $Tesla(TSLA.US$ in the EV sector last year, Li mentioned the company has no plans to enter the US market due to policy uncertainties and consumer doubts about EVs, describing the current environment as perplexing.
However, BYD still aims to be part of America's EV supply chain, emphasizing its role as a long-term battery supplier to Tesla.
