BYD COMPANY Plans to Spend US$600M on Setting Up EV Plant in Jalisco, Mexico

$BYD COMPANY(01211.HK)$ has sent a delegation to Jalisco, Mexico, to meet with state officials and local Chinese suppliers to consider setting up an electric vehicle (EV) plant there, with an expected investment amount of about US$600 million, according to Bloomberg News. The amount is similar to that of its EV plant in Brazil.

BYD's executives would meet with Chinese auto parts machine dealer, $HAITIAN INT'L(01882.HK)$ , in addition to meetings with state officials last week, after conducting in-depth research in the state, Roberto Arechederra, Jalisco's economic development secretary, said.
