This heatmap shows the quarterly profit before tax divided by revenue, or profit before tax margin or pre-tax margin or PBT margin for short. It's a key metric in benchmarking the operational performance across companies.
My Take: The chart ranked the 38 Automakers according to quarterly profit: Tesla 13th +7.3% Q1 2024 and BYD 18th +4.6% Q1 2024
Nio and Xpeng are still making losses. Some Automakers have not released their Q1 2024 earnings yet. As I posted previously, comparing EV delivery and earnings quarterly is fairer (and clearer) than monthly or using insurance registration and pre-order. Also it is not fair to compare only Tesla delivery in China or Tesla China which some media (or someone) like to do so. Here the data shown is Tesla profitability based on global sales (China, US, EU and others).

103484522 : nio will be profitable once onvo ramp up production .onvo will have lifetime. warranty for battery while tesla unusable after 8 year or less .with 3 min swap and no need go down in snow to do charging. u want to buy a tesla with less than8 year life for battery or lifetime warranty for onvo .also subtract 70k when u buy with baas.onvo owner will be smiling after 8 Yr when most tesla owner will go to graveyard
