10baggerbamm : the movement in the market today is irrational it has nothing to do with any fundamentals of any equity any metal any currency or any token asset like Bitcoin. what you are going to see happen today is massive margin calls on equities because of the volatility of this week and people that use leverage margin they're going to be liquidated and it starts at 3:00 today Eastern Time. so let's suppose somebody has a $50,000 margin call and they don't have cash to bring in to satisfy the maintenance requirement the margin department will pick at their choosing whatever is in their account and they have to sell three and one third the amount of whatever stock or whatever token that's in the account in order to satisfy the margin call so a $50,000 margin call requires $150,000 of securities to be liquidated. so it's important to understand that you're probably going to see a nasty sell-off come 3:30 to 4:00 Eastern Time United States because that's when all equities are going to be liquidated no limit orders everything's a market order.
