Bionano Announces Publication Showing that OGM Detects Over 1250 Structural Variants, including 56 Gene Fusions, in Pediatric Leukemia that were Missed by Whole Genome Sequencing
Bionano Genomics, Inc. (BNGO) announced a study using optical genome mapping (OGM) and whole genome sequencing (WGS) to identify genetic variations in pediatric B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. OGM and WGS together can reveal new therapeutic targets and improve personalized medicine by detecting structural variations. OGM uniquely detected 1,255 SVs, while WGS found 66 gene fusions, with OGM identifying an additional 56 fusions missed by WGS.
