Berjaya Corp's Vincent Tan did not take part in talks for Forest City casino

Vincent Tan Chee Yioun of Berjaya Corp has not participated in any discussions related to the casino at Forest City

Berjaya Corporation says reports that its founder Vincent Tan is in talks with other parties for a casino at Forest City is not correct.

"The articles in question, titled 'Malaysia in talks with tycoons on casino to revive US$100 billion Forest City' (Bloomberg LP) and 'Malaysia mulls casino at Forest City' (The Edge Singapore), have included inaccurate information that misrepresents our supposed involvement in discussions with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim regarding the Forest City project," says Berjaya Corp on April 26.

"We would like to make it clear that Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun has not participated in any such discussions and refute the inaccurate claims presented in the articles," the company adds.

When asked yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has denied that there are plans to give a casino license for Forest City.
